One consistent naming for every car

All cars now use the same catalogue names as the add-on cars. Earlier names keep working.

October 5, 20265 changes

Changed

  • Every car now uses one catalogue naming: brand, model, the year its model generation started and the body style (e.g. BMW / 5 series / 2017 / Estate, Mercedes-Benz / C-Class). Before, many cars used local names such as BMW / 5er or Mercedes / C-Klasse.
  • /api/getall, /api/brands, /api/search and every other list return only the current names.
  • Names never contain a slash, so every path has exactly one segment per name: where the catalogue writes one, the name has a hyphen (e.g. Chevrolet / C-K, Skoda / 100-110).

Improved

  • Requests with a name used before 5 October 2026 still work and answer with the car under its current name, so existing integrations keep running.
  • Every name now stands for exactly one car.
