A new query parameter `version` limits the results to one version: `version=v1` for the standard images, `version=v2` for the API v2 add-on.

version=v1 or version=v2 works on every catalog request — /api/brands down to a single view, /api/id/…, /api/getall and /api/search. With v2 you only get add-on cars and images, nothing falls back to the standard images; with v1 only the standard images, without any add-on section.
Without version nothing changes: you get everything your key allows. A version your key cannot use answers 403, any other value 400.
